The process of planning and executing a move out always generates worries for those who are switching places (house or apartment). Because they involve some minor headaches such as transportation, doubts such as “will the space support the furniture I have?” Or “will everything arrive in place?”.

This sense of apprehension makes the entire process of change more complicated. But cool, you can relax by checking out some of the tips we have for you to pack all your furniture in a safe and practical way, ensuring that the change in the end is a success!

1. Bubble Wrap can protect the most fragile parts

If you have furniture with parts that are more fragile or require care on your part, it is best to use some good layers of bubble wrap to prevent any knock or fall from cracking or damaging your furniture.

For tables, cabinets, dressers (which have glass tops) and mirrors it is recommended to use the plastic to coat the pieces and, whenever possible, cardboard boxes to carry everything with more comfort and ease in the organization.

An extra tip: for this type of furniture it is always good to number the pieces, to wrap the screws in a bag, paper bag or bubble wrap and store them together so that you can assemble again without problems when you arrive in the new house.

2. Corrugated cardboard for the transport of more resistant furniture

The use of corrugated paper is recommended for larger and stronger furniture, such as sofas, wardrobe pieces, mattresses, among others.

A simple wrapping sealed with adhesive tape for cardboard boxes solves very well any problems with scratches and other damages that can happen in the transport of the pieces. If necessary, it is worth using an extra layer of cardboard to further ensure the protection of the furniture.

3. Cardboard boxes for smaller accessories

Smaller accessories like books, shelf or shelf decorations and others can be stored in well-sealed and protected carton boxes. The key here is to arrange everything neatly so that the materials themselves will protect themselves and the collisions will not spoil anything.

If the parts are more fragile or made of a material that can break with minimal impact, use a few pieces of bubble wrap and line the carton or wrap the fittings in isolation.

If your objects are not so fragile as to need the bubble wrap, you can wrap them in several layers of newspaper and pack everything inside the boxes.

4. Styrofoam to protect home appliances and electronics

TVs, video games, microwaves, and other appliances need to be protected inside shipping boxes so that they do not have their windows cracked or damaged on the way to the new home. A nice tip though is to use boxes large enough to support each part coated with pieces of thick Styrofoam to prevent friction.

In addition to helping protect the screen of these devices, Styrofoam can be cut to fit in any box and coat any product. It is easy to find, has an affordable price and ensures that you will not “lose” any furniture because of problems in shipping them.

Now that you already know how to prepare for your move, provide the materials cited and pass on the tips to whoever needs them. Cardboard boxes can be ordered at supermarkets and styrofoam, bubble wrap and corrugated cardboard are found at large stationery stores or office supply stores.
